how it works

how it works

  1. 01

    Friends post plans

A city and a stretch of time. No addresses, no flight numbers — only what it takes to be found.

  2. 02

    Dates stay approximate

“All of October”, “about three weeks”, “until the 20th”. Nobody knows the schedule in advance, and the app never asks you to pretend.

  3. 03

    Crossings find themselves

When your stays overlap, both of you see it in advance — not afterwards in somebody's stories.

fuzzy dates

Plans, not a timetable

An ordinary calendar demands dates you don't have, which is why it stays empty. Here you can say it the way you actually think about the trip.

  • all of October
  • ≈ 5 Nov
  • about 3 weeks
  • until 20 Oct

invite only

A small circle

Slowmad opens on an invitation from someone already inside. That is what keeps the map a map of friends rather than a feed of strangers.

Plans you share with friends stay within your circle. Anyone holding an active share link can also open that plan. Slowmad does not track your device's location.

questions

Frequently asked

What is Slowmad?
A shared map of travel plans for a circle of friends: who is where now, who is heading where, and where your routes will cross.
Do I need exact dates?
No. “All of October” or “about three weeks from mid-November” is enough to find the crossings.
Who can see my plans?
You choose whether a plan is private or visible to friends. An active share link lets anyone holding it open that plan, including a private one. Shared pages ask search engines not to index them.
How do I get in?
On an invitation from a member. Everyone has a few, and they don't come back — so they go to people you actually know.
Is there Android or a web version?
Travel plans and invitations are available in the iOS app. The web currently shows a preview with sample plans; it does not display or edit your account's plans.
